Thread of Inspiration
Online Resource, It’s Nice That
Created as part of It's Nice That and Pinterest’s Thread of Inspiration series, the project repurposed Pinterest as an evolving visual resource exploring graphic design history, contemporary BIPOC creatives, archival references, articles, lectures, and essays. Developed during 2020, the work questioned the archaic and homogenous narratives often found throughout graphic design history while creating a public starting point for discovering broader perspectives and alternative references within design culture.
Using a Pinterest board as both a library and publishing tool, the project combined editorial layouts, typographic interventions, colour coded chapters, and visual research into a continuously expanding digital archive exploring representation, accessibility, and visibility within contemporary design education and practice. Rather than functioning as a definitive resource, the project was intended as an open invitation; a poetic starting point for questioning, discovering, and expanding the references that shape design.
